On behalf of Merilin and Thomas, I welcome you and thank you all for gathering here on this beautiful day to witness their marriage ceremony.
Nad on teile südamest tänulikud!
The fact that you all have travelled such a great distance to be here today is a testament to the amazing amount of love and support they have. Many of you have given them much happiness, love, warmth, and guidance through the various stages of their lives. A special and respectful acknowledgement must also be made to those friends and family members who were unable to attend, or have passed on, but whose spirit remains alive and strong in all our hearts.
I have also been asked by Merilin and Thomas to thank their parents for the wonderful lives they have given them, for the hard work and guidance they have provided, for their everlasting love, support, and encouragement. It is from them that they have learnt the true meaning of love, friendship and family.
Pruutpaar palus mul ka tänada nende vanemaid. Te olete teinud endast parima et võimaldada pruutpaarile parimat elus, haridust, kombeid ja neid eluteel juhtida õiges suunas.Te olete pakkunud piiramatut armastust, kodutunnet, toetust ja julgestust. Just teilt on pruutpaar õppinud armastuse, sõpruse ja perekonna tähenduse.
Ceremony
The marriage between Merilin and Thomas does not mark the beginning of a new relationship; rather, it is an acknowledgement and celebration, of a relationship that has been flourishing for a while now.
Marriage has been described as living in love with your best friend. Love is one of few constants in the universe. It is reality, affinity, and communication. Only love is capable of joining living beings by their deepest essence, uniting, completing, and fulfilling them.
You have chosen to walk through life together. There is no truer statement of love. The choice was not made by any one monent, but by being together you grew to realise that you belonged together and that you fulfilled each other's needs. You have come to thrive upon each other's presence, loyalty and wisdom. The foundation of your love is profound friendship. A friendship you have nurtured until at last you realised that you wanted to be together always.
Palun Janikal ja Triinul ette tulla lugema.
Reading 1
Merilin and Thomas met almost 6 years ago in Browns Mayfair. They were colleagues for over a year until love happened. It was a crazy roller coaster ride for both of them and they lived a rock 'n' roll lifestyle like Sid and Nancy, soon they found out that they were expecting their first child together. Little did they know then that they will be standing here almost 5 years on parents of 2 beautiful boys and about to get married. From the start they found that they had very similar family values and hopes for the future. Although they are very different as people and opposite in many ways they are also very similar in many other ways. They both say that they complete each other. For both Merilin and Thomas marriage means teamwork, never ending love and commitment, each others support, communication and trust.
Please could I ask Katy and Beth to come forward for a reading.
Reading 2
Merilin and Thomas have written their own personal vows. As you speak them to one another, you will discover that these are truly sacred promises, and sacred promises must be kept forever.
Thomas....
Merilin....
Merilin and Thomas would you please face each other and join your hands.
Exchange of rings
Merilin and Thomas, your rings are intimately associated with your intent to honor and treasure the vows you have made today. By exchanging rings, resolve to live your vows and not let them drift in shallow promises. Believe and trust that the words you have spoken have the capacity to create the marriage, family and life of your dreams, and that the rings you exchange will have the power to return you to your vows.
Thomas as you place this ring on Merilin's finger please repeat after me....
Thomas: "I give you this ring, as a sign of our marriage, and a lasting reminder, of the vows made between us today. I give you this ring, as a reminder that I will love, honor, and cherish you, in all times, in all places, and in all ways forever.
Merilin, if you accept please say "I Do"
Merilin as you place this ring on Thomas's finger, please repeat after me....
Merilin: "I give you this ring, as a sign of our marriage, and a lasting reminder, of the vows made between us today. I give you this ring, as a reminder that I will love, honor, and cherish you, in all times, in all places, and in all ways forever.
Engagement ring
The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and promise fulfilled. Thomas, please place the engagement ring on Merilin's finger over the wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage.
Blessing of the hands
Merilin, please face Thomas and hold his hands, palms up so that you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promised to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will work alongside of yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will massage tension from your neck and back in the evenings after you've both had a long and hard day. These are the hands That will comfort you in illness and hold you when fear or grief fill you. These are the hands that will give you support and celebrate with you in your accomplishments. And these are the hands that when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.
Thomas, take a look at the position of your hands with Merilin's and know that this is the last time you will ever have the upper hand.
Thomas, please hold Merilin's hands, palms up, so that you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young and carefree, as she promises to passionately love you cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happyness. These are the hands that will hold you in joy, excitement and hope each time she tells you that you are to have another child; that together you have created new life. These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times. They are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick or console you when you are grieving. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to fulfill your dreams. Both of you will use these hands to build a marriage where all your dreams come true.
Sand Ceremony
Today, this relationship is symbolised through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand one, representing you Merilin and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you Thomas, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.
Blessing of the marriage
Before I pronounce you husband and wife, I have just one more thing I want you to do.
Your wedding day is one that seems to fly.
It’s a day filled with emotions, friends, rings and dances.
Many people remember how fleeting their own wedding day was.
So I want you to take a few seconds to look onto each other’s eyes.
Think about the happiness that you’re feeling in this place, in this moment.
Really let that feeling register in your heart and your mind.
Now, I want you to think about your life together in twenty years.
Where are you?
What are you doing?
We all know that your visions of the future are not identical, but always complementary.
John Lennon once said, “a dream you dream alone is only a dream.
A dream you dream together, that is reality.”
And for Merilin and Thomas, that reality starts now.
Pronouncement as married
Throughout this ceremony, Merilin and Thomas have vowed, in our presence, to be loyal and loving towards each other.
They have formalized the existence of the bond between them with words spoken and with the giving and receiving of rings.
Therefore, it is my pleasure to now pronounce them husband and wife.
You may now kiss your bride!
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now my pleasure to present for the first time ever, Mr. and Mrs. Danquah!
